The “See Me Not My CP” Schools Programme is designed to provide interactive training sessions for teachers, school staff, and students aged 7-16. Delivered by disabled people, the programme offers a unique perspective on inclusion, helping participants understand disability in a fun, engaging, and practical way.

See Me Not My CP will

  1. Provide Training for Teachers and Staff
    Build awareness and confidence in supporting disabled students effectively. These sessions focus on delivering inclusivity and breaking down stigma within educational settings.
  2. Provide Sessions for Students (Ages 8-16)
    Empower young people to appreciate diversity and understand disability through tailored, hands-on learning experiences. Activities are age-appropriate and interactive and aim to inspire empathy and respect.
  3.  Offer Flexible Delivery Options
    Choose in-person sessions at your school or online workshops to suit your schedule and needs.

Overview
Disability Awareness The course will cover key areas including Introduction to disability, models of disability, the myths and stereotyping of disabled people, effective communication and top tips, inclusion and barriers faced by disabled people and things to consider when engaging with a person with a disability
Disability Awareness in Sport This course is for new and existing PE teachers to increase their knowledge, build confidence and develop strategies and opportunities for disabled pupils to participate in sports. The course includes facts and statistics, characteristics associated with several impairments, a STEP introduction, and an introduction to the inclusion spectrum.  The in-person course can also include a practical sports session
Introduction to Para Sport Clasification  This course gives an outline and explains why para sport has a classification system, why it is important, the national process of classification, and the key roles involved in the classification process. The course includes some case studies and looks at how classification fits into the broader area of sports coaching 
Bespoke Sessions  These sessions will be bespoke to each school or group of schools and will introduce adaptions to ensure full inclusivity for disabled pupils in PE lessons. They will include things to consider, practical examples, hints, and tips from the people in the know.

Overview 
Disability Awareness Assemblies To deliver a fun class or school assembly, where the deliverer looks at breaking down the stigma of a disabled person, to identify how the actions of some people can cause issues for people with disabilities
Disability awareness  (Primary age) To introduce Disability Awareness and to provide knowledge and experiences of all the different types of disability, both physical and hidden. This session includes several practical activities and classroom based activities
Disability Awareness (for Secondary School age) To provide knowledge and experiences of all the different types of disability both physical and hidden. Breaking down the barriers of disability and providing pupils with practical, hands-on experiences
Diversity and Inclusion versus Discrimination (aimed at age 14+) To provide young people with knowledge and understanding of social inclusion, diversity and discrimination, and what these terms mean. Examining how they play an important part within their community and society. Providing young people with the understanding so that they can take responsibility for how they look at and treat different people and groups in an ever-changing society
Para sports taster A taster session for young people to try various para sports. These include boccia, new age kurling, seated volleyball, goalball, to name a few
